Jenna Mahoney - Profile
- Started riding lessons at age 7 and eventually got my first pony at age 8 after which I joined the Belmont Pony Club in Wellington and started to learn how to jump and ride.
- Shortly after the family moved to Hamilton and I continued my interest with the Tamahere Pony Club.
- A few years later I had progressed to the stage where I was regularly attending Pony Club Championships representing the Waikato and Auckland areas in Eventing, Dressage and Show Jumping.
- Went on to produce my first hack – Kintyre - that I took to Sydney to represent New Zealand at young rider level.
- Traveled to the UK to work for Blyth Tait for 1 year. This was a great opportunity and experience to learn from one of the top international eventers.
- After returning to NZ, I started taking thoroughbreds and produced them up to 3-star level, including The Straussman, Satori, Fasaadi and Santos.
- I then took two of my 3-stars over to Sydney to work and be based with Shane Rose to further my experience and education as an eventer and trainer.
- In 2009, represented New Zealand at the Australian 3-Day Competition in Adelaide finishing in the top 10.
- Competed successfully at numerous 3-star events within New Zealand whilst continuing to breed and train eventers and gaining a thoroughbred racehorse training licence.
- Currently have 6 young eventers in work, all of which have been bred by Jenna and are showing a lot of promise.
